Easter & Eggs:
Fun hands on matching egg patterns. The children loved the lil'chicks hiding inside the eggs. We cannot talk about eggs without introducing Humpty Dumpty.
While you are reciting it let the kids handle the felt pieces and ask what comes 1st, 2nd and so on...literacy and math in one!
Another fun egg activity: What animals come from eggs?
And of course we sang, "I Know a Chicken" by Laurie Berkner, with our shaky eggs, always a fav!
Today we came back from Spring break, I was so happy to see all my preschoolers. They seemed happy to be back at school!
We did a few projects, very simple and quick! We only had today to prep for our Easter party! (You can challenge your preschooler by having them cut out the patterns but since we were pressed for time, I did the cutting). First we made "chocolate" bunnies! We used brown paint on bunnies using our chick peeps as sponges. The peeps made the paint a little glossy, they really look like real chocolate!
We also decorated paper Easter eggs, very simply with circle stickers you can purchase anywhere.

OMGosh, Easter is this week!
I can't believe it is already Easter! It is such a magical time with the preschoolers, hunting for eggs and a visit from the Easter Bunny. But have to admit, not all preschoolers are hip about meeting a giant rabbit, carrying a basket of carrots! Every year we have at least one child that does not want to get near the rabbit, and honestly I do not blame him. Just think about it, a giant white rabbit appears in your classroom (you are 3/4 years old), the rabbit greets you with no words, but wants to hug you and take a picture with you! Here's hopping all my preschoolers are in love with the Easter Bunny this year!
